Privacy Policy

Last updated: 26 July 2026

This policy explains what SearchYield Digital ("we", "us", "our") collects when you use this website (SearchYield Digital, Lagos, NG), why we collect it, and the choices you have. It's written to comply with the Nigeria Data Protection Act (NDPA) 2023 and to follow good practice under regulations like the GDPR for visitors outside Nigeria.

1. Who we are

SearchYield Digital is a search-to-revenue growth agency operating from Lagos, NG. For any privacy question or request, contact us at hello@searchyield.com. We act as the data controller for information collected through this website.

2. Information we collect

We collect information in two ways:

  • Information you give us directly — when you submit the growth diagnostic form, this can include your name, role, email, phone/WhatsApp number, company or school name, website URL, location, industry, growth goals, budget band, and anything you write in the message field. We ask for exactly what we need to prepare a useful diagnostic and follow up — nothing more.
  • Information collected automatically — standard technical data (like pages visited, browser type and approximate location) if and when analytics tools (Google Analytics, Microsoft Clarity) are active on this site. These are optional and, where required by law, only load after you'd expect them to as part of normal site operation.

3. How we use your information

  • To prepare and send your growth diagnostic and respond to enquiries.
  • To follow up by email, phone or WhatsApp about a diagnostic, proposal or engagement.
  • To understand how the site is used and improve it (only where analytics are enabled).
  • To meet legal, accounting or regulatory obligations.

We do not sell, rent or trade your information to third parties for their own marketing purposes.

4. Legal basis for processing

We process diagnostic-form submissions on the basis of your consent (you choose to submit the form) and our legitimate interest in responding to genuine business enquiries. Where analytics cookies require consent under applicable law, we only activate them after that consent is given.

5. Who we share information with

We use a small number of third-party service providers to run this site and process your enquiry. Each only receives what it needs to do its job:

  • Netlify — hosts this site and processes growth-diagnostic form submissions.
  • Sanity.io — hosts blog content (does not process your personal information).
  • Google Analytics / Microsoft Clarity — optional, aggregated usage analytics, only if enabled.
  • WhatsApp (Meta) — if you contact us via WhatsApp, that conversation is subject to WhatsApp's own privacy policy.

We may also disclose information where required by law or to protect our legal rights.

6. Cookies

This site uses only essential cookies by default. If analytics tools are active, they may set cookies to distinguish returning visitors and measure site usage in aggregate — never to identify you personally for advertising purposes on this site.

7. Data retention

We keep diagnostic-form submissions for as long as reasonably needed to respond, follow up, and — if you become a client — deliver the engagement, plus a reasonable period afterward for our own records. If nothing comes of an enquiry, we aim to delete it within 24 months. You can ask us to delete it sooner at any time (see Section 8).

8. Your rights

Under the NDPA (and equivalent protections if you're contacting us from elsewhere), you have the right to:

  • Ask what personal information we hold about you and get a copy of it.
  • Ask us to correct inaccurate information.
  • Ask us to delete your information, subject to legitimate reasons we may need to keep it.
  • Withdraw consent at any time, without affecting anything already done based on prior consent.
  • Object to processing based on legitimate interest.
  • Lodge a complaint with the Nigeria Data Protection Commission (NDPC) or your local data protection authority.

To exercise any of these, email hello@searchyield.com. We'll respond within a reasonable timeframe, generally within 30 days.

9. Data security

We rely on reputable providers (Netlify, Sanity, Google) who maintain their own technical security measures, and we limit access to submitted information to the people who need it to respond to you. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we take reasonable steps appropriate to the sensitivity of the information involved.

10. International transfers

Some of our service providers (Netlify, Sanity, Google) process data on servers outside Nigeria. Where this happens, we rely on those providers' own compliance with applicable data protection standards for cross-border transfer.

11. Children's privacy

This site is intended for business use and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the site or our practices change. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above.
